FAQs for Commercial Customers | |||||||||
Why can you trust Borderline operators? All Borderline operators are experienced and professionally trained by Borderline New Zealand to ensure every job is done to Borderline's high standards. Our operators are subject to ongoing training and support from Borderline NZ making sure that the latest innovations are used for your job. How long does it take to lay concrete curbing? Most jobs are completed in one day. Larger jobs may take a little longer. Will there be any damage done to my lawns, gardens, paths or driveway? No. Impact to your property is minimal as our machines are light and compact—there will be no damage your existing flower beds or foliage. Also, we mix our own concrete using our purpose built, self-contained trailer so no heavy concrete trucks are used that can cause driveway damage. What will Borderline Kerbing need from me the day the job starts? We will need access to a standard garden tap for water. In some circumstances, depending on the finish colour you choose, we may need power for a short time in order to mix the colour. Also, please advise us if there are any underground services like pipes or wires near where kerbing is to be installed. Can tree roots cause problems with kerbing that is laid near trees? No, not normally, if properly managed. We will clear any tree roots near the surface when we install the kerbing—then, a yearly spading along the back of the kerbing is all that is required. Will I need steel reinforcing bar (rebar) in my residential kerbing? We can include this with some of the profiles, but in most domestic applications it is not necessary. We can advise you on this when giving a quote. How long will it take to receive a quote from Borderline Kerbing? We normally visit each job to quote. This takes between 1/2 an hour to 1 hour depending on complexity and your individual kerbing requirements. What are the different applications for Borderline Kerbing? Borderline Kerbing, or continuous concrete landscape border edging, can be used to enhance your lawn areas, driveways and flower beds. It also functions as a weed barrier and helps with erosion control. Kerbing adds beauty to landscaped areas by providing a neat, defined outline that dramatically highlights contrasts in texture and colour. Back to top of pageIs Borderline Kerbing expensive? No. Borderline Kerbing costs compare very favourably to traditional concrete edging and landscaping methods. Also, it yields much more flexibility in achieving the design you want. Back to top of pageDoes the concrete garden landscape edging need ongoing care and maintenance? We seal the kerbing on completion of the job with a high grade commercial sealer—it needs only minimal maintenance after this. To keep it looking great, we recommend resurfacing it approximately every 2 years using a good quality masonry sealer. Or, for a small fee, we will be happy to do the job for you. Borderline Kerbing is a machine laid continuous concrete border—often described as decorative kerb or kerbing. It is an extruded concrete product, providing the ideal residential garden edging for your complete landscaping and lawn edging needs. Does Borderline Kerbing—decorative garden edging—come in different shapes? Yes. There are 6 standard border (Profiles) shapes to choose from. See our Our Services Profiles page for more details. What if the garden edging cracks? Contact your operator as warranty conditions may apply. Repairs can also be arranged, at a reasonable cost, if damage occurs through no fault of the operator who installed your garden edging.
Is Borderline Kerbing strong enough for commercial applications? Most certainly, yes. We use high cement content in our kerbing mix. This can be combined with pinning and reinforcing bar (rebar) when using larger profile kerbing for additional strength in more demanding applications. What commercial applications can Borderline Kerbing be used for? We install Borderline Kerbing in a wide range of commercial applications including, car park kerbs, wheel stops, garden edging in parks, gardens, edging for playgrounds, and raceways for dairy farms, to name just a few. Please contact us for information on your special commercial applications. Does Borderline Kerbing comply with all Health and Safety requirements while working on commercial sites? Yes, Borderline Kerbing is totally committed to a safe working environment. We have Site Safe accreditation and full PPE to satisfy our stringent safety requirements and site requirements as well. We also conduct "toolbox talks" and "stand back" style risk assessments on multi-user and higher risk sites before the job begins. |
